Foster parenting has fulfilled our lives. We thoroughly enjoy young people and making a difference in a young person's life means everything to us. Foster parenting is a lot of hard work, but it is also a lot of fun. We were referred by another foster family who was using Adult and Child. We really appreciate all the trainings we have receive and the support from the staff. We wanted to foster sibling groups and knew that this was a possibility with Adult and Child's Foster care program.

We decided to become foster parents because we really wanted to adopt a child in need. With so many kids in our "own backyard" who need a home, we felt compelled to open our home to children to provide them with love and stability. Being foster parents has completely changed our lives, before we had children, we couldn't imagine what our lives would look like with a child in it, now we couldn't imagine life without our kids. The day that our kids came to live with us, our daughter ran up the walk with her arms wide open screaming "Mommy, Mommy", it makes us sad to think of what she had been through up to that point, but in that moment we knew that caring for her was the most completely "right" think we have ever done.

I decided to become a foster parent because I knew there were a lot of children in need and I have a loving home and positive life that I wanted to share with them. So many of the kids that we serve are so alone, I can't imagine not having at least one person in my life that loved me unconditionally, I want to be that person for the kids in my home. Foster parenting has taught me a lot about life, love and laughter, being creative and really understanding how blessed I am. I had never been a parent before I began foster parenting, it has been a truly an amazing experience for me, I get as much from it as the kids do. I've been fortunate enough to be able to adopt an adorable son that I had fostered, my life has been blessed through caring for these kids. I chose Adult & Child when I began fostering in 2004. I have had the most supportive, caring flexible staff to work with every time. The agency not only does right by me, but more importantly, they do excellent work with the children. I have referred several friends who wanted to become foster parents to Adult and Child as well, they have just been great to work with. I encourage anyone who is considering becoming a foster parent to give Adult & Child a call, you won't be sorry.
