Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) is a program designed to care for children
of all ages who require more intensive services to provide them with a safe,
caring home to allow them to heal. Children/youth in this program suffer
from a variety of emotional, behavioral and medical difficulties due to their
painful pasts. Placement in a safe, loving home is the goal for every child
that we serve. Some of our children will return to their biological families
while others may be in need of a permanent adoptive family.
Children in this program need someone who can help them with these common issues:
- Serious emotional and behavioral problems
- Developmental Delays
- A history of multiple failed placements
- Medical concerns
- Significant educational challenges
- History of family disruption, neglect and/or abuse
Foster parents who work with us to help these children, must be willing and able to:
- Create a sense of belonging for the children placed in their home
- Give children the stability they need so that they can begin to
learn healthy relationship development in a loving, family environment
- Remain open to caring for children who come from various religious,
socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds
- Have age-appropriate accommodations made for childcare/after-school care
- Provide transportation to visits, appointments, court, etc.
- Work with a variety of professional service providers to meet the needs
of the child in their home
Foster parents in this program will receive:
- Ongoing support and education in their efforts to provide life-changing
care for children placed in their home
- Regular foster home visitation from the case manager assigned to their home
- 2 paid respite days per month
- Mileage reimbursement for transporting children to required appointments
- 24/7 Crisis support services
